Danish Imam Abu Laban: Invasion put back 12 years
This is rich..
From this article in Jyllands-Posten today:
When we are talking about integration - the full meaning of the word, where Moslems feel welcome and respected in the community - then it is my estimate that it will take 12 years of hard work to get the EU member countries to accept the idea of showing respect to the symbols of Islam.

Why is this man still hanging around in Denmark. He should have been run out of the country on a rail long ago. As for respecting Islam or it’s symbols…don’t hold your breath, not even for a decade or 12 years. Ain’t gonna happen now! Our eyes have been opened, thanks to Jyllands-Posten and thanks to Denmark’s leaders standing firm so that the full malice and wrath of Islam could be perceived when it’s demands were rejected. We needed to see that for ourselves. We owe Denmark a lot for shining a bright light in Islam’s dirty dark corners!

I wouldn’t put money on him being in Denmark for too long. Vice-Premier Bendt Bendtsen said that once the furore had calmed a bit, his residence permit would be ‘reviewed’.

Irshad Manji Got it Right Today in the New York Times
Irshad Manji got it right today in her New York Times opinion piece titled “How I Learned to Love the Wall.” Ms. Manji writes, “this barrier, although built by Mr. Sharon, was birthed by “shaheeds,” suicide bombers whom Palestinian leaders have glorified as martyrs. Qassam missiles [launched at Israel] can kill two or three people at a time. Suicide bombers lay waste to many more. Since the barrier went up, suicide attacks have plunged, which means innocent Arab lives have been spared along with Jewish ones. Does a concrete effort to save civilian lives justify the hardship posed by this structure? The humanitarian in me bristles, but ultimately answers yes.”

Dánský imám: dáváme vám dvanáct let
Tak dlouho bude podle něho trvat, než se Evropská unie muslimům podřídí. Bude to ale tvrdá práce:
Když mluvíme o integraci - v plném významu toho slova, kdy se muslimové budou v Dánsku cítit vítanou a respektovanou komunitou - pak můj…
