Rumors of Danish Submission greatly exaggerated!
At Atlas Shrugs I find this:
The Danes caved? After all of that for nothing? They groveled? The are licking Radical Islamic boot?
Though you are truly beautiful, my dear Atlas, I fear you are a bit too gullible. From Jyllands-Posten:
Ambassador denies apologising for Cartoons
The Danish Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Hans Klingenberg, denies having apologised for the Muhammed cartoons on behalf of the Danish government. The Saudi News Service, SPA, mistakenly reported this earlier today.
The article then goes into blah blag mode. I’ll translate it later when I have posted this. Here comes the interesting part:
He says that SPA’s report of the events does not match what he saw and that he would be a poor diplomat if he did not know of and report the Danish position on the cartoons.
"I deny having apologised on behalf of the Danish government, and I should know, shouldn’t I?" he says.
So there. We don’t apologise to ragheads. That a clear enough statement?

Oh what a relief! Atlas thinks it’s a relief too, don’t you dear!
The HORROR of licking ‘Radical Islamic boot’ can only be compared to the taste of the Russian Army tramping through your mouth in sock feet. Aeeech! Nasty!

We all need to stand up for freedom and stand up for Denmark.
I admit to streching the fair use copyright protection that the cartoonists’ have ….I printed the “run out of Virgins” cartoon on a t-shirt and I wear it constantly… I did change the caption to “Stop Stop. there never were any virgins” Because its time to also tell the Muslims that paridise is not and never will be open to ass(w)holes who abuse women…
Stand tall and Proud Denmark. Don’t care to the ignorant masses.
No Burka on Lady Liberty. No muzzle on free speech. …and if liberals can’t find any other reason to support the Danes then at least support Art for Arts Sake…

Not the first time that completely erroneous news has come out of the Middle East. Seems their press has no problem making stories up to suit them.
Not that the Western media would do that *cough*memogate*cough*

NO SUBMISSION FROM the Vatican:
Vatican Magazine Urges West to Defend Its Principles - “It is not acceptable to take a few cartoons as a pretext for triggering a violent dispute against the West,” said the magazine, which is under the control of the Vatican Secretariat of State.
It added that “the West must also have greater confidence in the well-founded nature of its own principles and show more firmness against all attacks on its principles.
“It certainly wasn’t expected that the West defend Christians as such, but it was its duty to defend the principle of freedom of conscience and of religion.”
